- Guest Editors
Each role carries important responsibilities to ensure the academic quality, integrity, and smooth operation of the journal.
Responsibilities of the Editor-in-ChiefThe Editor-in-Chief serves as the leading authority of the journal and holds primary responsibility for its scientific quality and reputation. The Editor-in-Chief works closely with the Editorial Office to oversee the overall management and development of the journal. Key responsibilities include:
- making strategic scientific decisions regarding the journal’s scope and direction;
- inviting distinguished researchers to join the Editorial Board;
- proposing topics for special issues;
- coordinating with Guest Editors in managing special issues;
- supervising the editorial workflow for submitted manuscripts and making the final publication decision after peer review and revisions.
The initial appointment term for the Editor-in-Chief is
two years, with the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities of Editorial Board MembersEditorial Board members play an essential scientific and advisory role in the journal’s operation. Their main responsibilities include:
- reviewing one or two manuscripts per year within their area of expertise;
- contributing to the preparation or editing of special issues relevant to their research fields;
- providing feedback on the journal’s policies, development plans, and new regulations when requested;
- promoting the journal among colleagues, research groups, and at academic events or conferences.
Communication with Editorial Board members is conducted primarily via
email. The standard term of membership is
two years, and members may renew their term or step down at any time if their workload does not allow them to continue.
Responsibilities of Guest EditorsKelajak International Group values collaboration with scholars worldwide. Special issues are typically overseen by a
Guest Editor, who manages the thematic content and invites contributors within the same research discipline. Key responsibilities of Guest Editors include:
- inviting colleagues and experts to submit articles on the chosen theme;
- working with the Editorial Office to prepare the special issue description and keywords;
- managing the editorial workflow for manuscripts submitted to the special issue;
- recommending acceptance or rejection of manuscripts based on their scientific merit
- (final decisions may be confirmed by the Editor-in-Chief when necessary).
Special issues aim to feature at least
five published articles. Manuscripts accepted for a special issue are published online immediately upon acceptance and are collected on the special issue webpage. This ensures that authors do not face delays and their work becomes accessible promptly.
Guest Editors must avoid any
conflicts of interest, such as evaluating manuscripts submitted by authors from the same institution or with whom they have close collaboration. In such cases, decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriate Editorial Board member.
